I don't like to give recommendations too. But when I have to I find it nice to strongly consider who the person is, and then suggest something that I've enjoyed and is closely related to who they are.
I’ve come to realise that while I like reading classics and some philosophy because they allow me to grow, my first love will always be fantasy and science fiction as they allow my mind to travel and my imagination to soar.
I know there will be people who disagree with this and think that you should only read what they recommend and that’s okay as that is their prerogative, but their choices are nothing but their choices they are not set in stone reading lists just like my reading choices are simply that my choices.
I tend to treat reccomendations not as a "must read", but as an inspiration, suggeations. It puts books on my radar and then i read the synopsis to determine if i want to read it or not.

Most of the time I also have half read books in my Kindle and sometimes still force myself to finish them… Thanks for the insights.
